A brief run through of some of the highlights of the C3 Enterprise and Standalone clients by Avistar. You will see how the interfaces differ and what types of advantages one has over the other. For those unfamiliar with them, C3 Enterprise allows for firewall traversal for multiparty calling for its users. It has a slightly different interface than the Standalone and is the product most widely used. The Standalone is a point to point only video client. However, it has a full screen mode (at 720p) and interoperates very well with SIP video clients like Grandstream and Unidata video phones. It has SIP registration capabilities and a much easier install (being just the client itself, the C3 requires software installs on servers for NAT traversal and multiparty functions). Both have great video quality and are very easy to use.

During the second part of this presentation, Gavin shows their great google search results when googling their names, their company name, their books etc. How to use google alerts to monitor who talks about you, explains that web 2.0 also means monitoring discussions on the net and he shows an example of a discussion on ESL Café that served as advertisement for the school that got involved in it, as opposed to the one who didnt.
This presentation by Gavin Dudeney is not about language learning with technology but about marketing. It was presented at the BESIG conference in November 2008, at the IATEFL conference at Exeter and other conferences.
